Ultimate Werewolf: Ultimate Edition, which designer and publisher Ted Alspach released at Spiel in 2008, has been out of print for a few months, but the game will be back in print come April 2010.
For those not familiar with Werewolf, the heart of the game involves villagers trying to expose the werewolves hiding amongst them before the werewolves can kill everyone. UW:UE contains more than three dozen roles that players can take on, from the plain Jane villagers and vitally important (but loathed and feared) werewolves to a martyr, a drunk, a hoodlum and a spellcaster. Each role, other than the basic two, has a special power that twists the game play in some manner. The game includes dozens of scenarios that allow you to play Werewolf with any number of players from 5 to 68.
In addition to the Ultimate Edition, Alspach is releasing the Ultimate Werewolf: Compact Edition in April 2010, which he describes as “containing half the cards of the Ultimate Edition and an abbreviated set of rules, allowing for small werewolf games anywhere you go.”
Finally, in April 2010 Alspach will also release UW: Classic Movie Monsters, a small expansion that includes six new roles that work with either edition of UW. The new roles include:
- The Blob, which oozes across the village, one villager at a time. If the Blob consumes everyone, the Blob wins!

These games have been added to Gone Cardboard.
